Gung Hay Fat Choy!

Early Years wish you a Happy Chinese New Year as we have travelled to China!

We have had lots of fun this week learning all about Chinese cultures and beliefs as we celebrate Chinese New Year. We have talked about the Chinese symbols of good luck - the colour red, tangerines and gold coins. We have created dragon dances and listened to Chinese music. We have practised our scissor skills, cutting along a straight line to make a Chinese lantern. In Literacy, we have written Happy New Year cards and described the dragon hidden in the egg. We have been practising adding two sets of objects and finding the total amount. If the dragon gave you an envelope with 4 coins in and then added two more, how many would there be?
