Red Nose Day

'Do Something Funny For Money!!'

The whole school wore mufti for the day on March 13th, and came to school equipt with red noses, wacky hair and hair boppers all in aid of Red Nose Day.

The children each made a small donation to come to school in their own clothes and we are pleased to say that we managed to raise £137.55.
Well done everyone!

Alongside the fundraising the children were able to enjoy the day by having a bit of fun along the way. There was plenty of joke-telling, and some examples include:

Why did the chicken cross the road?
To get to the other side!

Knock, knock
Who's there?
Doctor
Doctor Who?
See! You already knew!!!

The children really enjoyed 'doing something funny for money', and we're sure the charity will be very grateful for our contribution.
Thank you.

Book Week!

Week commencing the 2nd March was Book Week, and along with many other exciting activities including a visit from a Storyteller, another from Henrietta the Chicken and a book fayre all week, we had a dressing-up day on Friday 6th March.

Every child in the school was invited to dress up as a character from one of their favourite books, and the children really entered into the spirit of the day, as you can see from the pictures!

We had The Cat in the Hat, Lettice the Rabbit, lots of Mr Men characters and Princesses, Harry Potter, Pirates, and Little Red Riding Hood to name but a few.

We had a fun day and thank everyone for their efforts.

Our New Library is OPEN!

Our wonderful new library is finally open!

As you know, the work has taken some time, but we now have a lovely new library for the children to use.

As you can see, it is a wonderfully child-friendly and relaxing library with space for group reading, work on computers, research books, audio books and of course the space to sit and read quietly.

We also have a small space outside to use, for when the summer finally arrives...

We should all feel proud in the knowledge that we were able to use £2,000 of FOBS money to buy new books and over £1,000 to furnish the room. This has all been raised by pupils taking part in such activities as sponsored walks, Cake and Bake Sales, Christmas/Summer Fayres and the like. So it's great to see where the money is being used.

We are so very pleased with the new space and hope that it will aid the children's learning greatly.

And we feel it was definitely worth the wait!

Parent Open Morning

Thursday 26th February we held a Parent Open Morning for parents of children currently attending Belle Vue.

The morning began with a short information presentation from Clare Painter, Headteacher.

This also offered parents the opportunity to put forward any questions or suggestions.

Parents were then invited to have a look around the school to see the wonderful work the children have been doing, as well as giving them a chance to see their children working in the classroom environment.

The children were very busy but loved the chance to show the visitors what they were up to....

.... and Mums loved to see too!
