Day for Change

Today we have been raising money for Day for Change.

Our challenge was to collect enough change to cover the map of the United Kingdom on the school playground.  The school council took charge, ably assisted by children from Early Years, and used the coins to cover the map.  Thank you everyone for your generosity.  As soon as we have counted all the money we will let you know how much we have raised.  This may take a while!!

Everybody worked together to lay out all the coins - it was great fun!

Then we had to pick them all up again - well done everyone!

We all had filthy hands by the end but it was all for a good cause!

All the change we have collected will go directly to UNICEF's children’s emergency fund to save and protect children affected by emergencies around the world.
By donating your change today you have helped to keep even more children safe from danger around the world.

Here is what the money raised will go towards .....
  • £8 can supply high-energy food for a malnourished child for one week
  • £26 can pay for a winter kit for a child, including a hat, scarf, gloves, thermal wear, winter boots, underwear and a baby quilt.
  • £100 can provide support for three children who have suffered the distress of war.
Once again, thank you very much for your generosity.  By collecting all our change then hopefully we can change our world for the better on 'Day for Change'.
