Anyone for a fruit kebab?

Year 2 have been thinking about how to keep healthy. We have all learnt that fruit and vegetables are a really important part of our diet. In DT we designed and made a fruit kebab. We thought about how we could make the kebab tasty and look appealing. At the end of the lesson we were able to eat them. Yum yum!!!

Electronic Art!

This term, for our topic, Who Am I?, Year 2 have been studying their faces. We also studied portraits created on the computer by artists such as Andy Worhol.
We have been experimenting with various tools on an art programme such as the line tool, spray, fill and many more. We have now begun to create our own portraits, thinking about how we can add texture through using a mixture of the tools we have learnt about.

Year 2 have been looking at different parts of the body.

Year 1 meets Aldershot Town FC

This afternoon Bobby from Aldershot Town football club came to visit us at school. He took us outside for some football training. We did a footballer's warm up and practised heading the ball, goal keeping and celebrating scoring a goal - it was great fun. After that Bobby showed us how to control the ball by dribbling.

Bobby thought we did really well. Maybe some of us might play for Aldershot Town or even a Premiership team sometime.

5,4,3,2,1 Blast Off!

This half term, Early Years are going on lots of exciting journeys!
We have been visting the Jungle, Space and Under the Sea.

When we visited the Jungle, we found out about the environment and the animals that live there. We read the book 'Rumble in the Jungle' by Giles Andreae. We had lots of fun making animal masks, baking banana cakes and describing what different animals look like to our friends.

Can you guess what animals we are describing?

We had lots of fun on Pirate Day. We looked FANTASTIC dressed as different types of Pirates. We travelled over planks, under waterfalls and through jungles to find the treasure.

Never rush when you brush!

Year 1 had a visit from Barbara who came to tell us how to look after our teeth.

She explained what to expect when we visit the dentist. We all agreed that there's nothing to be frightened of.

She gave us some really helpful advice. Try singing your favourite song while brushing your teeth to make sure you have brushed them for long enough.

It's library time!!

In Whitebeam Class we look forward to visiting our fantastic new library every week. There are so many books. Everything from "Thomas the Tank Engine" to "British History", "Native Americans" to "Ten Little Dinosaurs". The computer even recognises who we are - it's fab!
